I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is nothing quite like relaxing under the cool night sky, in the middle of nowhere, and capturing long exposures of our night sky. Pitching the tent, setting up a few of camping chairs, and having a couple of quiet drinks while your camera works its magic; not much can beat that.

With so many other photographers who enjoying doing this as well, there is certainly no shortage of inspiration to get you ready for your next night-based photography adventure.

One such photographer, whom I have followed on YouTube for quite a while now, is Mathieu Descombes. Mathieu, a Landscape and Portrait photographer from France, captures absolutely inspiring time-lapses of the Milky Way, along with a collection of alternate subjects including storms and landscapes.

Recently, Mathieu released an extended video, in 4K, that showcases all of the Milky Way timelapse’s he has shot throughout 2016. And it is amazing.

Total Photographs: 7,000
Location: Rhône-Alpes Region – France
Camera: Nikon D750 and D610
Lens: Nikkor 14-24mm and Sigma Art 35mm

Don’t forget to head on over to his YouTube channel to see more of his work.
